Abstract

Hybrid Fiber Coax or HFC is a technology that combines technology with fiber optic technology with coaxial. The optical fiber network is used as a backbone and coaxial network as a customer distribution network. At present the use of HFCs in the telecommunications network has received great attention because theoretically it is possible to provide various services at once (multiservice) such as retile phony, internet, cable TV and Video on Demand (VOD) with the promise of higher data transmission speeds and affordable prices for users. In the race to fulfill the desires of customers (users) to service the internet faster and cheaper, a factor that plays an important role is bandwidth. For comparison, telephone cable networks have low bandwidth so that they have low speeds while the HFC network provides a very wide bandwidth that offers higher speeds. This shows the great potential of the network for providing multimedia services in real time
